FUERTEVENTURA WHERE IS IT: Fuerteventura belongs to the Canary archipelago, located in the Atlantic ocean, 97 km from the north east African coast. Fuerteventura itself is only 100 Km from the coast of Morocco (right in front of the boarder to the Occidental Sahara). It benefits from a clime almost perfect, with average temperatures between 17º C in January and 25º C in August.
Fuerteventura is the second biggest island after Tenerife and it´s also the longest one with 98 km from North to South. The arid interior is very similar to the neighbours African countries, including the poor rains, the rock landscape (temperatures of these rocks can reach 67Cº in a very hot day) and the simple villages of white houses.
But Fuerteventura is well known all over Europe for its fantastic beaches with over 50 km of Caribbean white and golden sand.
